For the very first time, Mother Love Bone’s The Love Bone Earth Affair has been officially released in high definition and made available for free on Pearl Jam’s YouTube channel.

A rare snapshot of Seattle’s golden days
The Love Bone Earth Affair mixes interviews, raw live performances, and the official videos for Stardog Champion and Holy Roller. Originally released on VHS back in 1993, it’s been out of print for decades and, until now, only lived on in low-quality bootlegs and collectors’ shelves.
Past releases
After the original VHS, the film resurfaced only in the 2016 box set On Earth As It Is: The Complete Works, released on November 4th of that year.
The catch? It was just a standard-def SDR DVD. This brand-new HD upload marks the first real chance to watch the documentary in a proper remastered version.
Fresh remasters on vinyl and CD
2025 has been a big year for Mother Love Bone fans. Both Apple and Shine have been remastered and reissued on CD and vinyl, giving new life to the band’s two cornerstone releases.
And on October 10, 2025, a Japan-only limited edition is dropping: a Mini-LP / SHM-2CD box set bundling the new versions of both Shine and Apple. With such a small pressing, this thing is bound to become a hot collector’s item.
A legacy still shining
With The Love Bone Earth Affair finally available in HD, Andrew Wood’s voice and the band’s wild energy hit harder than ever. It’s not just a tribute to a group that paved the way for Pearl Jam, but a blast of pure Seattle magic from a time that changed rock forever.
MLB official videos in HD
On Pearl Jam’s official YouTube channel, they just dropped the HD versions of Holy Roller and Stardog Champion, along with The Love Bone Earth Affair. About time those classic vids got some love!
