Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament, historic members of Pearl Jam, continue to show that their impact goes far beyond music. Both are actively involved in supporting social causes and celebrating the values and roots that shaped their artistic journey.
Stone Gossard and the Commitment to Healthcare Access
On April 7, for World Health Day, Stone Gossard participated in #AccessToHealthcare Day, an initiative promoted by the Seattle/King County Clinic, a project that offers free healthcare services to those who cannot afford them. A longtime volunteer and supporter of the cause, Stone emphasized how crucial it is to guarantee everyone access to quality medical care. “Good health opens doors—to education, employment, and a better life,” he wrote, inviting his fans to join the awareness campaign to break down the barriers that still exclude millions of people today.

Jeff Ament Between Music, Memories, and Friendship
Through his Instagram profile, Jeff Ament recently shared two particularly touching messages. In one, he wished his bandmate Mike McCready a happy birthday, celebrating the many travels and incredible experiences they have lived together with Pearl Jam: “We’ve done some amazing things and seen incredible places with our circus,” he wrote, affectionately calling Mike a “Ripper!”.
In another post, Jeff fondly remembered Al Barile, founder of the legendary hardcore band SSD (Society System Decontrol). Ament shared how the visceral power of hardcore music grabbed him from the very beginning, citing SSD and Black Flag as examples of idealism and expressive power. With heartfelt words, Jeff expressed his condolences for Al’s passing and his gratitude toward Nancy Barile, Al’s wife, for the love and support she showed over the years: “Much love to you, Nacny Barile… you were heroic in your love and support for Al.”

Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament, each in their own way, continue to use their voices for something greater: supporting fundamental rights and honoring the cultural roots that inspired their music and their lives. A true example of how rock music can still be a force for change and remembrance.
