Neil Young drops Mirror Ball reissue (with Pearl Jam)

Four albums from the ’90s — from acoustic vibes to raw distortion — now packed in the brand-new Official Release Series Vol. 6 box set.

Neil Young is back diggin’ into his archives. The brand-new Official Release Series Vol. 6 bundles up four records from ’92 to ’95: Harvest Moon (1992), Unplugged (1993), Sleeps With Angels (1994) and Mirror Ball (1995), the wild collab he cut with Pearl Jam.

The set hits stores October 24, 2025, in two flavors: vinyl and CD. The vinyl box gives you two heavy 180-gram LPs for each album, while the CD version comes with one disc per album. Both editions are numbered, limited runs — straight collector’s items.

Four albums, four moods
  • Harvest Moon (1992) brings back Neil’s mellow side, with gems like Unknown Legend, From Hank To Hendrix and the ever-loved Harvest Moon.
  • Unplugged (1993) catches Neil raw and stripped-down on MTV, 14 cuts spanning his career up to the early ’90s.
  • Sleeps With Angels (1994) is darker, heavier — check Western Hero, Prime of Life, and the monster jam Change Your Mind.
Mirror Ball shines again

The crown jewel here is Mirror Ball, cut live to tape with Pearl Jam right at the peak of their rise. Fully analog, now remastered and with four tracks remixed, it sounds bigger and dirtier than ever. Highlights? Throw Your Hatred Down and I’m The Ocean — both making a comeback in Neil’s recent shows.

ORS vs Archives: different trips

These four albums are part of Neil’s Official Release Series (ORS), a chronological reissue run of his official discography, all cleaned up and re-pressed with care. The Dolby Atmos mix of Mirror Ball and the long-lost Dublin 1995 show with Pearl Jam? Those are expected to pop up in Archives Volume IV, Neil’s deep-dive series for unreleased cuts, live gems, and rare footage.

For the die-hards and the vinyl freaks

Official Release Series Vol. 6 is way more than a reissue — it’s a time capsule from a restless, electric era in Neil Young’s career. For die-hards, vinyl freaks and anyone who digs that raw Neil energy, this box set is a no-brainer.
