Mirror Ball Live: Neil Young rocking with Pearl Jam in Dublin

Iconic August 26, 1995 performance, recorded on analog gear, coming soon on vinyl with tracks like Big Green Country, Song X, and Scenery.

The legendary Mirror Ball Live show, where Neil Young hit the stage with Pearl Jam at Dublin’s Simmonscourt Pavilion on August 26, 1995, is finally getting a vinyl release.

This won’t be part of the Mirror Ball reissue dropping October 24, 2025 as Official Release Series #6, but will come later as part of the fourth volume of the Neil Young Archives, covering 1987–2002.

According to Neil Young’s official site, Mirror Ball Live will be pressed on ‘three sides of vinyl’ with seven tracks: side A features Big Green Country, Song X, and Act of Love; side B has Downtown, Mr. Soul (the only track not from Mirror Ball), and Throw Your Hatred Down; side C includes a sprawling 19-minute version of Scenery. It’s still up in the air if more songs will be added later.

The recordings were done using two synced 24-track Studers and mixed on ¼” analog tape at Village Studios D, using a Neve 88R console—pure analog vibes, packed with the warmth and punch of a killer rock live.

The Dublin gig is remembered as one of the peak moments of Neil Young’s collab with Pearl Jam, right in the same year Mirror Ball came out. Thirty years later, fans finally get to feel that raw energy firsthand.

There’s also a film by Jim Sheridan that’s been locked away for years due to label legal issues. It’s still unclear if it’ll drop with the vinyl or separately, but it’s part of the planned Archives Volume IV releases.

More details on the release are expected in the coming months.
