The EB documentary featuring Eddie Vedder goes global, blending music, science, and real-world impact.

Matter of Time, the documentary focused on the fight against epidermolysis bullosa (EB), will be available worldwide on Netflix starting February 9, 2026. The film features direct involvement from Eddie Vedder and centers on the work of EB Research Partnership, the nonprofit organization dedicated to funding research aimed at curing this rare and extremely painful genetic condition.
After premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival, Matter of Time takes viewers inside the day-to-day reality of researchers, doctors, and families living with EB. It’s a raw, human look at a battle where science, urgency, and compassion collide. The film closely follows EB Research Partnership, co-founded by Eddie Vedder and his wife Jill McCormick, and their push to speed up real, tangible medical progress.
Set against the backdrop of two benefit concerts organized by Eddie Vedder in Seattle, the film goes way beyond the music. It’s an intimate look at what happens when a community actually shows up and turns care into action, proving that collective effort can drive real change.

The documentary features multiple songs and live footage taken from Vedder’s two benefit shows at Benaroya Hall in Seattle in 2023. These performances serve as emotional anchors throughout the film, highlighting the deep connection between Vedder’s music and the mission to fund EB research.
Scoring the emotional journey at the heart of the film is an original soundtrack by Kevin Drew of Broken Social Scene. Drew first connected with the project through a 2022 telethon organized by Finlin and quickly found himself pulled into the cause. “To find yourself surrounded by something that could actually be cured… and to find hope at a time when it feels like there’s barely any left, that’s everything,” Drew said.
With its global Netflix release, Matter of Time is set to reach a much wider audience, raising awareness around EB and spotlighting the work being done by researchers, families, and supporters worldwide. It’s a documentary where music, science, and people come together — and where change feels not just possible, but inevitable.
