Mad Season‘s Above remains a landmark in the alt-rock and grunge movements, and to mark its monumental 30th anniversary, Ten Club is releasing an exclusive edition of the iconic album, available on ‘Black & White Galaxy’ Vinyl.
This limited-edition 2LP gatefold comes with stunning restored artwork from the original 1995 release. For fans and collectors alike, each copy will be individually numbered with a foiled stamp, limited to just 1,000 units worldwide.
The release includes a special 20-page 12×12 booklet with an embossed cover, showcasing new liner notes from band members Mike McCready and Barrett Martin, as well as additional photos and song lyrics.
Released in 1995, Above was a groundbreaking album that united members of iconic bands: Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees), Mike McCready (Pearl Jam), Layne Staley (Alice in Chains), and John Baker Saunders (The Walkabouts). The album quickly became a cultural touchstone, going on to sell over a million copies and becoming a must-have for fans of grunge and alternative rock.
In celebration of its 30th anniversary, this special edition will be the first time Above is pressed on vinyl variants beyond the traditional black vinyl. With freshly remastered audio for vinyl and lacquers cut by Levi Seitz, the release will feature the original 10 tracks, alongside three tracks with Mark Lanegan on vocals and a special cover of John Lennon’s I Don’t Want To Be a Soldier, with Layne Staley singing lead.
With only 1,000 copies available, each album will be foil-stamped with a unique number, making this a highly sought-after collector’s item for Mad Season and grunge enthusiasts. Preorder now and be part of this once-in-a-lifetime celebration of one of the genre’s defining albums. Presale now available at pearljam.com.
