Starting today, two new songs written and recorded by Ani DiFranco in collaboration with Stone Gossard are available for streaming and purchase.
The newly released single features two tracks co-written and recorded by Ani DiFranco and Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard, with production by Josh Evans, known for his work on Pearl Jam’s Gigaton. The recording also includes contributions from renowned musicians Skerik and Stanton Moore.
The first track, The Message, is a brand-new track, while the second, Disorders, was previously released two years ago with all proceeds benefiting the National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF), an organization dedicated to removing financial and logistical barriers to abortion access. The single is being released under Loosegroove Records – Gossard’s own label – alongside Righteous Babe Records, the independent label founded by DiFranco in 1990.
At this time, it is unclear whether Ani DiFranco and the Pearl Jam guitarist have recorded a full album together or if this single represents the entirety of their collaboration. Fans will have to wait to see what’s next from this exciting collaboration.
