Eddie Vedder Rocks with John Fogerty & The Who

A historic night of legends, charity, and the passing of the rock ’n’ roll torch.

On Friday, October 3rd, 2025, Eddie Vedder made rock history once again. The Pearl Jam frontman joined The Who on stage for a blazing version of The Kids Are Alright (audio) during an intimate charity gig at the Backyard Concert 2025, celebrating the event’s 10th anniversary.

Word is, this might’ve been The Who’s final performance ever — and having Vedder up there for the last tune felt like a torch being passed from one generation of rock legends to another.

Earlier in the night, Eddie also teamed up with John Fogerty for a soulful, gritty take on Fortunate Son, the Creedence Clearwater Revival classic that had the crowd losing their minds.

The concert, held in Pacific Palisades, California, raised funds for Teen Cancer America and UCLA Health, supporting autism programs and wildfire recovery initiatives. Backstage, Vedder shared a deeply personal moment — he played Everyday by Buddy Holly for Roger Daltrey, right after Daltrey gifted him a guitar that once belonged to the rock ’n’ roll pioneer himself.

But that wasn’t the end of it. Just days earlier, on September 30th, Vedder surprised fans at Wrigley Field once again.

During the Cubs vs. Padres game, he led the crowd in a heartfelt Take Me Out to the Ball Game, then stuck around to celebrate his team’s win. From L.A. stages to Chicago bleachers, Eddie’s still out there — singing, smiling, and keeping rock alive.
