Primo
concerto dei PJ per questo 2004. La band è stata premiata
con gli Impact Awards 2004 dalla Pacific
Northwest Chapter of the Recording Academy. I PJ (vestiti in
giacca e cravatta) hanno poi tenuto un breve set elettrico composto
da Last Soldier (canzone per ora mai incisa in studio ma già
eseguita al Bridge 2001 e inclusa nel Xmas single del 2001), Down
(la b-side del singolo di I Am Mine, presente anche su Lost Dogs)
e 1/2 Full (da Riot Act). Le uniche parole pronunciate da Eddie
durante il set sono state le seguenti: "I'm Eddie Vedder, and
I've approved this next song" poco prima di Last Soldier. Nel
corso della serata è stato proiettato un video-tributo alla
band con immagini riguardanti la lotta contro la Ticketmaster &
la generosità della band dimostrata nel corso degli anni.
Stone ha tenuto poi un discorso sull' educazione. La band è
stata premiata dal boss della Real Network (e amico di Vedder) Rob
Glaser. Presenti in sala Mark Arm dei Mudhoney, Krist Novoselich
(ex-Nirvana) e Kim Thayil, ex-chitarrista dei Soundgarden. Curiosità:
nella setlist era inclusa anche la cover di Steve Van Zandt, Patriot.

ha fatto una sorpresa ai presenti allo ShowBox, accorsi per il concerto
di Mike McCready+Friends (UFO Tribute) e dei Brad (la band parallela
di Stone Gossard), esibendosi in un piccolo show acustico. Il singer
dei PJ ha suonato Man Of The Hour, presente nella colonna sonora
di Big Fish, alcune songs dei Pearl Jam e una cover degli Who, The
Seeker. In Yellow Ledbetter, Ed Vedder, ha suonato la batteria.
Poco dopo la cover dei Who, Ed ha detto 'Anche se John Kerry è
il secondo peggior presidente di sempre (degli U.s.a. -n.d.r.),
è sempre meglio di quello che abbiamo ora!'. Sono poi seguiti
gli shows di Mike con amici in un tributo agli UFO (presenti nel
loro set anche due covers degli Aerosmith) e il concerto dei Brad

Pearl Jam sono stati introdotti dal politico Jim McDermott. Boom
era presente in questo show. Nello show sono state presentate
varie canzoni in versione elettrica (piu' la cover, mai proposta
prima, di 'The american in me' degli Avengers). La band è
poi rientrata per il primo bis 'armata' solo di strumenti acustici
e ha presentato 5 canzoni unplugged. I PJ sono poi tornati per
il secondo bis e tra le varie songs suonate hanno proposto una
cover degli Who (The Seeker) e 'The New World' degli X suonata
insieme al chitarrista della band, il mitico Jon Doe. Ed Vedder,
durante lo show, ha indossato una t-shirt raffigurante Johhny
Ramone, chitarrista dei Ramones scomparso solo pochi giorni fa.
Nel soundcheck è stata suonata una nuova canzone dal titolo,
per ora, sconosciuto con un tempo à là 'Tremor Christ'.
Da notare la presenza, sempre nel soundcheck, della cover dei
Beatles 'I've got a feeling', di 'Sheena is a punk rocker' dei
Ramones e di 'Don't be shy' di Cat Stevens (poi suonata dal solo
Vedder prima dello show dei PJ). P.s. Gli Smoosh, la band di supporto,
sono una band composta da due bambine di, rispettivamente, 10

alla chitarra e ai cori. I Pearl Jam sono risaliti sul palco e
hanno suonato insieme e Neil Young la cover di Bob Dylan, 'All
Along The Watchtower'. Durante la cover, Ed & Neil, si sono
scambiati le strofe. E' poi salito sul palco anche Peter Frampton,
introdotto da Mike McCready. Durante 'Act Of Love', Ed e Pegi
hanno fatto i cori. Durante 'Cortez The Killer', Vedder era sul
palco ma non ha cantato. Lo show è finito con un incredibile
versione del classico di Young 'Rockin In The Free World' con

(voluto ed organizzato da Neil Young e dalla moglie Pegi). La
presenza del singer dei PJ allo show è stata confermata
solo due giorni prima del concerto stesso. Ed Vedder ha eseguito
Soon Forget e Better Man (tratte dal repertorio della sua band)
e la cover dei Beatles, You' ve got to hide your love away. Prima
della cover di Bob Dylan ha suonato una piccola improvvisazione
inerente Bu$h. Durante il set di Neil Young, Vedder, è comparso per suonare Harvest Moon insieme al rocker canadese.
Nel finale con tutti gli artisti, EV ha suonato il tamburino e
